New Year's Day Wenas Wildlife Area 4x4 Trip

This will be a backroads type of trip. Not a hardcore snow wheeling trip.

It will depend on the amount of snow there is of where we are going. If there is a lot of snow down low, we will go up as far as we can and let the kids sled. If there is no snow like last year, we will keep going to see the sites.

A Discover Pass is required. You must have a working street legal 4 wheel drive with some clearance. You will need to have a full tank of fuel, bring cold weather gear, recovery gear, food, and drinks. Be prepared for mud and snow.

NOTE: Follow the laws & rules of the land. Mudding is illegal, so don't do it.

As of right now the snow level is low so we do not know how far up the ridge we will get. If we get stopped due to rigs not making it up, we will go sledding. The Chuckwagon will have hot chocolate if that happens.

It will depend on the amount of snow there is of where we are going. If there is a lot of snow down low, we will go up as far as we can. We can let the kids sled or maybe go back down and take the Wenas Pass to E-burg and come back the Canyon. We will decide how the group feels at that point.
